Beowulf Software 1.2

This program contains five to eight questions for each of the 44 short sections of Beowulf, depending on the level of difficulty you have them set at. Complete score reports, audio readings in each part of the work, dozens of images, copious text glossaries, and, of course, the unabridged text all exist to enhance the learner's understanding of this otherwise difficult Anglo-Saxon folk epic. Finally, a program you can feel good about taking a grade from. Amazingly, a purchased download or CD allows for full classroom or lab use by one instructor. Once you've purchased either the download or the CD-Rom disk, in the confirmation email immediately sent to you, you will receive the web address for downloading the program. Features of The Complete Beowulf Interactive: Two levels of difficulty allow for over 350 total questions that involve the essentials of reading comprehension--on finding main ideas and specific details, using inference skills, reading charts and maps, etc. Full score reporting for each part, section, and overall grade are available for printing as a single-page score report for each student. A multi-sensory approach to teaching the text, with dramatic audio readings available for reading along with each section. Plenty of images exist relating to the epic and to Viking culture. Easy-to-utilize screens. All references appear on the same screen for easy access. Clickable text glossary for difficult words and archaic concepts. Can be used to cover special education and ESOL modifications such as self-pacing, readings of texts, immediate feedback and multiple attempts per question to enhance learning. Installs directly to your computer and runs without a CD-Rom disk. Easy, intuitive navigation between images and text. Not just a mere "resource"--this program brings Beowulf to the reader through three of the five senses and also results in grades you can actually use!
